About the Event
This series, hosted by Dr. Michael Crosbie and Dr. Vanessa Avery, brings in experts from the fields of architecture, spirituality, and religion to reflect on how sacred architecture provides openings and pathways for peacebuilding and inclusive community.
Wolff Architects, of Cape Town, South Africa, is a practice that is concerned with developing an architecture of consequence. Mr. Heinrich Wolff, award-winning co-founder of the firm, will join us for this session to discuss the Baha'i Temple in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and his fascinating, religiously and culturally-relevant design for belonging, openness, and service to humanity.
Heinrich has received many awards including the Daimler Chrysler Award for Architecture (2007), the Lubetkin Award (2005) and in 2011 he was elected as the Designer of the Future by the Wouter Mikmak Foundation.  Heinrich has taught and lectured internationally and has held several academic appointments, at institutions including the ETH in Zürich (2014-2015), IUAV in Venice(2013), Washington University in St. Louis (2015) and UCT, Cape Town.
