About the Event
Please join the next stop in this year's exploration of sacred spaces in Evanston! The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Evanston hosts a sacred space visit. We can't wait to share it with you!
Founded in 1891, UUCE is a member congregation of the Unitarian Universalist Association, a pluralist tradition grounded in covenant rather than creed. Members hold diverse theologies — theist to atheist — united by shared values and a mission of nurturing the human spirit for a world made whole.
About the visit: This visit invites us into a tradition that chose relationship over doctrine, and into a sacred space designed for it in 1958 by architect Paul Schweikher.
Here's what to expect:
Tour of the sacred space, with its tradition, beliefs, and local history
Insights into covenant and the UU shared values — love, pluralism, justice, equity
