Chinmaya Mission, DFW

Chinmaya Mission follows the path of Gyana Yoga – The path of knowledge for renunciation. It follows the Vedic teacher-student tradition (guru-shishya parampara) and makes available the ageless wisdom of Advaita Vedanta, the knowledge of universal oneness–providing the tools to realize the wisdom in one’s life.  Anyone from any path can learn about and practice the path of knowledge, as it inspires seekers to understand their own faith better.

Come and learn about this fascinating and compelling spiritual path, and more about its beliefs, practices, and community through an engaging and in-depth architectural/spiritual tour!  At this sacred site visit, you will have the chance to learn about the beliefs and practices of this Hindu path, engage in an in-depth religious/architectural tour, witness a ritual, learn about this community's history, hear individual spiritual journeys, and enjoy a delicious dinner!

This will be an interfaith visit with representatives from at least 7 different religions present to explore the sacred space of the Chinmaya Mission DFW. This visit is run by Sharing Sacred Spaces in partnership with Thanks-Giving Foundation and local congregational partners, and is part of the Interreligious Communities Project, Dallas, TX.  There will be 8 visits to different sacred spaces as part of this program over the course of 2024-2025.  There will be 8 "experiences" in fact; not just visits.  We go deep into the architectural design of each space which opens up new avenues for connecting the material and the spiritual.  Members of each congregation will also share about their worldview, spiritual journeys, and history.  We then share a meal and dialogue.  Join us for this one visit or all of them!  Click here to see the full schedule of visits for the year.
