Content Strategist

 

Sharing Sacred Spaces is looking for a part-time or consulting Content Manager to build our brand, visibility, discoverability, supporter relationships, and thought leadership. The Content Manager will both develop and implement a content strategy and calendar for the organization, developing diversified programming and online opportunities that align with our overall mission.  

 

This position will entail working collaboratively with our SSS Team on content solicitation, editing, writing, and managing to implement the strategy. The Content Manager will build relationships with scholars, non-profit leaders, thought leaders, and public personalities to solicit appropriate content on topics such as community-building, sacred space, sacred architecture, relations across difference, diversity and inclusion, and other affiliated mission-driven topics that will align with the content strategic plan. The Content Manager may also work with the Executive Director on developing online courses with both written and video content on select sacred spaces.  

 

An ideal candidate will have experience in editorial management, content planning, online course and program development, digital campaigns, narrative storytelling, journalism, branding, or similar. The ideal candidate will also be an impeccable and compelling writer, as well as relationship-oriented and able to solicit and work well with contributors to our content.  You must be highly organized, detail-oriented, customer experience-focused, and have a commitment to the community-building and peacemaking mission of our organization. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Create content strategy, and ensure we have an aligned content focus, rhythm, and workflow, and a compelling narrative.

  • Reach out to potential contributors to plan out content in advance to ensure content is delivered on time and is aligned with the overall content strategy.

  • Identify content opportunities to energize supporters around our mission, deepen supporter trust and loyalty, and maximize support for SSS’ work.

  • Expand upon and manage our content calendar in partnership with the Communications Manager.

  • Partner with the Executive Director on fundraising and campaign strategies.

  • Manage our SEO strategy from a topline, goal and results-driven perspective.

  • Stay on top of content trends and deliver appropriate organizational response with timely content creation.

  • Co-create and design content strategy to meet fundraising and campaign goals.

 

Required Skills:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field.

  • A proven track record in digital strategy and content management

  • Superior verbal and written communications skills, and the ability to develop and assess content from a customer-experience perspective.

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with others in a remote work environment.

  • Notable project management experience, including design and video projects.

Ideal Qualifications:

​

  • Experience with content and audience segmentation and tailoring messages for different audiences.

  • Experience creating action-driving and/or fundraising content.

  • Ability to read and understand scholarship from an abundance of sources to recognize thought trends and translate to a general audience

  • Ability to write compelling copy to drive audience engagement

  • Comfort in a startup, rapid-growth environment

  • Entrepreneurial spirit

 

Job Type: Part-time, fully remote. Estimated 8-10 hours per week.

Salary:  Commensurate with experience.
