Daisy Khan is an award-winning speaker, author, activist, commentator, and the founder of Women's Islamic Initiative in Spirituality and Equality (WISE) which amplifies women's voices at all levels of political, economic, religious, and social discourse. She is a recipient of twenty awards for her work in advancing women's rights and enhancing interfaith relations. She is a frequent media commentator & Op-Ed writer on American Muslims, Women in Islam, Islamophobia, and religious extremism.

 

In 2022, Daisy is publishing a comprehensive global guide and toolkit on the 30 Rights of Muslim Women.  In 2021, Daisy published WISE Up to White Supremacy. In 2017, Daisy published a report, WISE Up in collaboration with 72 authors to prevent the rise of hate and extremism and develop narratives of peace in. In 2018, Daisy's memoir, Born with Wings, was published by Random House, earning a starred review from Publishers Weekly. In it, she depicts her spiritual journey as a modern Muslim woman and her pathway to leadership.

 

Born in Kashmir, she spent twenty-five years as an interior architect for various Fortune 500 companies. In 2005, she dedicated herself to full-time community service and building movements for positive change, both in the United States and around the globe.
