About the Event

This series, hosted by Dr. Michael Crosbie and Dr. Vanessa Avery, brings in experts from the fields of architecture, spirituality, and religion to reflect on how sacred architecture provides openings and pathways for peaebuilding and inclusive community.

This session will feature award-winning architects Heinrich and Ilze Wolff, founders and principals of Wolff Architects in Cape Town, South Africa.  Wolff Architects is a practice that is concerned with developing an architecture of consequence.

Mr. Wolff will present on his design of the Baha'i Temple in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and its design for belonging, openness, and service to humanity.

Mrs. Wolff's main preoccupation as an architect is to reconstruct and seek out spatialities of collective freedom, and she will speak on how her various modes of expression and actions, including architecture itself, moves toward emancipation.
