Perspectives in Sacred Space: Gender, Race, and Religion [PAST EVENT]

This series will bring in experts from the fields of architecture and religion to reflect on the intersections of form, culture, and belief.  In this first session on sacred space and gender, Dr. Tammy Gaber will present a compelling talk on gendered space and community experience in Canadian mosque design.  The talk is based on her new and groundbreaking book Beyond the Divide, the first comprehensive study of mosques across Canada.

Dr. Tammy Gaber is Director and Associate Professor at the McEwen School of Architecture, where she teaches architecture design and theory courses. Dr.Gaber was one of the MSoA founding faculty in 2013 and previously taught at University of Waterloo, American University in Cairo and the British University in Egypt.
